Fertility Support

Home Fertility Support

There are many causes of infertility. The problem could be male, female or a combination of factors. Whatever the reason, our reproductive systems, hormone balances and immune systems are all impaired if we are stressed. Often the conception process can be stressful if it is not as rapid as expected.

Stress upsets the delicate balance between the hypothalamus (a region of the forebrain), the major endocrine gland and reproductive glands and is capable of preventing a woman from ovulating entirely. Research suggests that acupuncture can increase your chances of fertility by reducing stress, balancing the endocrine system and increasing the flow of cleaner blood to the reproductive organs.

In men, stress can alter sperm counts, motility, and can cause impotence. Acupuncture counters the symptoms of stress and cortisol by releasing endorphins in the brain. Encourage your man to book a treatment. You will find them more relaxed, sleeping better and having more energy in the bedroom.

Fertility
The current low fertility rates in Australia reflect the inclination for partnering and childbearing to occur at later ages than in our history. This is partly due to the greater, sustained female participation in the workforce. Traditionally, the ‘nappy valley’ age group (25-34 year olds) disappeared from the workforce but this is not the trend today.

Scientists, practitioners, and their patients have serious concerns about the identified negative trends in fertility and reproduction. Another significant factor affecting, conception and development of human embryos and foetuses is environmental toxicity. According to the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals, reproductive toxins may contribute to a ‘spectrum of adverse effects on reproductive health’. They are present in air, water, consumer products, soil, dust, and food. This makes them extremely difficult to avoid in your daily lives.

At Essential Acupuncture Clinic we work with you to reduce anxiety and stress, cleanse the body of toxins and ensure that every cell, tissue and organ is properly nurtured and in prime condition.

This collaborative approach may not be achieved with acupuncture alone and will involve a combination of acupuncture treatments, Chinese Herbal Medicine, dietary considerations, exercise and where necessary, medical interventions.
